The Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday announced that four travellers abducted on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway on Sunday have been released. This was disclosed in a statement by Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the state command.
Odutola noted that those rescued along the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway by the anti-kidnapping team of the state police command included one Mr Ola and three Indian nationals. She said, “Mr Ola, Pujan, and two other Indian nationals, names yet unknown, have regained their freedom along Ogere inward Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.
' Abiodun Alamutu, the Commissioner of Police, on Monday directed the anti-kidnapping unit to launch a search for the criminals who attacked and kidnapped the travellers. The gunmen reportedly attacked the travellers between the Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township. According to Wemmy Osude, the Chairman of Ilisan Development Council, some other victims were taken into the bush by the criminals.
