Former Liverpool star, John Barnes has told West Ham captain, Declan Rice to prioritise a transfer move to Arsenal over Manchester City.
Barnes believes Rice fits Arsenal’s style of play, adding that it makes sense for the England international to join the Gunners ahead of Man City.“Arsenal have made two bids for which will probably get up to £100million, so Arsenal makes more sense,” Barnes told futfanatico. “Not because they are better than Man City but because Arsenal are more interested and I think he wants to go to Arsenal. That’ll be the best thing for him.
“Rice will fit into Arsenal’s way of playing in that holding midfield role. £100milllion for Rice means he goes straight into that Arsenal team as the holding midfielder. “I don’t think Manchester City are as interested in Declan Rice because they have got Rodri. And I don’t think Pep [Guardiola] wants two holding midfielders,” he added.
