Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he doesn’t know why midfielder Mason Mount left the Blues for Manchester United.
Mount completed his £60 million transfer from Chelsea to Man United this week, ending his 18-year association with the west London club. The England international was determined to leave, and with a year left on his contract, the Blues opted to cash in on him. “When I talk about the future, it is about the players in the squad,” Pochettino said at a press conference on Friday when asked if he would like to have Mount in his squad.
“He [Mount] is a Manchester United player now. I don’t know what happened in the past. We need to be focused on our players and move on and try to build a nice story.”
