Arsenal are keen to back their manager Mikel Arteta with more cash in January to sign new players in a bid to bolster his squad depth this second half of the campaign. “I think Arsenal need two signings this January, they have got to go out and buy immediately,” Merson told the Daily Star. “There were no fresh legs. They paid £34million for Fabio Vieira but still did not put him on. For me, that was the worrying thing.
