Bayern Munich are seeking a €50 million transfer fee from Manchester United for their defender, Matthijs de Ligt. After Raphael Varane's departure, Man United have prioritized acquiring a new center-back this summer transfer window. While Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is a primary target for the Red Devils, their initial £45 million offer was rejected this week.
According to Sky Germany, De Ligt has emerged as an alternative, and the Premier League club have begun internal discussions about the Netherlands international, who previously played under manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax. Bayern Munich is open to selling De Ligt this summer but insists on a €50 million fee. De Ligt joined Bayern for €77 million from Ajax in July 2022. The 24-year-old is with the Netherlands national team, gearing up for their Euro 2024 group stage opener against Poland on Sunday.
