Transcorp Hotels Plc, the hospitality subsidiary of Transcorp Group, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship by hosting a special tree planting ceremony to celebrate World Environment Day.

The event was graced by the Chairman, Transcorp Group, Tony Elumelu, who personally planted a tree on the premises of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, to mark the day.

“As an organization that is committed to improving lives, transforming society, reducing carbon footprints and preserving the natural resources that make our planet thrive, Transcorp Hotels is dedicated to the United Nation’s Sustainability Development Goals, particularly those related to responsible consumption and production, climate action and life on land.

He added that the exercise was part of the hotel’s effort to illuminate humanity and the earth. According to him, the hotel’s focus was not just profit making but equally, ensuring that progress is made towards sustaining the environment.
