Former Paris Saint-Germain player, Jerome Rothen, has told forward Lionel Messi to leave the club over his recent decision to travel to Saudi Arabia.
Rothen also insisted that Messi’s move to PSG from Barcelona is a total fiasco, adding that the Argentina World Cup winner has no professional conscience for travelling to Saudi Arabia.
Messi, 35, was recently handed a two-week suspension by PSG for his ‘unauthorized’ Saudi Arabia trip Monday.Speaking to RMC Sport, Rothen said, “Lionel Messi, I don’t question his fantastic career or his talent, but his coming to PSG is a total fiasco.
He added, “He would like to come back to Barcelona, but he can’t, so he is blocked and he is going out of his way to try to extend, to try to scratch the Qataris even more. “Since he has already scratched them well for good preparation for the [FIFA] World Cup and he got what he wanted. But now, ciao! Bye bye! That’s enough.”
