It is cheap, gets media coverage, and causes citizens and reactive government officials to spend a lot of time planning how to respond. There is something proactive for the City of Ottawa to do that puts the shoe on the other foot when it comes to giving the convoy crew cause for pause. That is, request Canada Revenue Agency to justify the registered charity status granted to the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms .
The evidence seems clear that JCCF is a partisan, political interest group, not a bona fide charity in the tradition of community groups, food banks, the Salvation Army and thousands of other apolitical organizations which are in service to all Canadians, and not focussed on those with partisan political grievances.
