My opposition to these often unnecessary machines is equally based on the massive cloud of noise they inflict on the community. As a concert musician, I am very careful to protect my ears and always have ear muffs at the ready when neighbours or contractors begin motoring their snow, grass and leaves into oblivion.
It took a determined student to silence the noise of the convoy a year ago, noise city council was seemingly deaf to. Ottawa, we have a problem.
