‘To ease subsidy removal hardship’ — Kwara announces three-day work week | TheCable fuelsubsidy

SEPT 22 2020The Kwara government has directed the reduction of workdays from five to three to cushion the hardship of the petrol subsidy removal and high transportation rate on public servants.
In a statement on Monday, Susan Oluwole, head of the service, said the directive was declared by Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, governor of Kwara.Following Tinubu’s declaration, Nigerians were thrown into tension as petrol prices increased across the country and long queues were also reported at many filling stations.She directed “all heads of ministries, departments and agencies in the state to immediately work out a format indicating the alternating work days for each worker under them”.
She warned all public servants against abusing the generosity of the governor, adding that her office would intensify the regular monitoring of all MDAs to ensure rigorous compliance with the directive.
