The Nation Newspaper Tinubu to Nigerians: Your sacrifices paying off
has commended Nigerians for their patience in the last few months while his administration worked to steer the nation on the path economic recovery and sustainable growth. But he wants them to continue, in the spirit of the season, yielding themselves to selflessness and compassion and remaining steadfast in seeking a united, peaceful and prosperous nation.
“The President warmly greets Christians in Nigeria and around the world on this occasion, emphasising love, sacrifice and compassion as the patent themes of this solemn season. The former Kano State governor, a Muslim, called on Christians to seize the opportunity of the Easter holiday to reflect deeply on what they can do as a people to ensure that the current political and security situation in the country turn around for a better Nigeria to be enjoyed by all citizens.
The APC National Chairman called on all Nigerians, irrespective of religious and political affiliations, to rally round President Tinubu, insisting that the President and his team are assiduously working hard to bail out Nigeria and Nigerians from the problems of insecurity, hunger and socio-economic issues.
“My wish is for all of us to enjoy the season. We need to be as peaceful as we have always been, do things in moderation, and ensure that we keep the peace and tranquility that Lagos is known for. “These are some of the messages we need to take forward, and this needs to reflect in our market. Naira is getting stronger and better. It needs to reflect in the cost of goods.
According to the governor, it has become important to engage in more prayers and supplications for the country and the state amid current economic situations. He added: “As we celebrate this year’s Good Friday, we must remember to be our brothers’ keeper and look out for each other at this difficult time while remaining resolute in our love for God and our nation.”The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, asked God to heal Nigeria during the Easter celebrations.
But he urged them to remain hopeful of better days ahead and to move away from the present predicament. The catholic bishop stressed that Good Friday teaches the best qualities of leadership in service, humility and love. “Good Friday invites us to repent, do away with sin, but do something for the good of others and thus, enjoy God’s favour.”The Department of State Services advised Nigerians to be vigilant, especially during this festive period, and report attempts to breach security to relevant law enforcement agencies.
“The Service reminds them to use the event which illustrates sacrifice and forgiveness to refocus their love for one another, the nation and humanity at large.
