The Nation Newspaper Tinubu to Nigerians: Your sacrifices paying off

has commended Nigerians for their patience in the last few months while his administration worked to steer the nation on the path economic recovery and sustainable growth. But he wants them to continue, in the spirit of the season, yielding themselves to selflessness and compassion and remaining steadfast in seeking a united, peaceful and prosperous nation.

“The President warmly greets Christians in Nigeria and around the world on this occasion, emphasising love, sacrifice and compassion as the patent themes of this solemn season. The former Kano State governor, a Muslim, called on Christians to seize the opportunity of the Easter holiday to reflect deeply on what they can do as a people to ensure that the current political and security situation in the country turn around for a better Nigeria to be enjoyed by all citizens.

The APC National Chairman called on all Nigerians, irrespective of religious and political affiliations, to rally round President Tinubu, insisting that the President and his team are assiduously working hard to bail out Nigeria and Nigerians from the problems of insecurity, hunger and socio-economic issues.

“My wish is for all of us to enjoy the season. We need to be as peaceful as we have always been, do things in moderation, and ensure that we keep the peace and tranquility that Lagos is known for. “These are some of the messages we need to take forward, and this needs to reflect in our market. Naira is getting stronger and better. It needs to reflect in the cost of goods.

According to the governor, it has become important to engage in more prayers and supplications for the country and the state amid current economic situations. The Oba in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, admonished Christians to be Christ-like and pray ardently to God for the forgiveness of sins and to heal the nation.

He said that to foster national unity and cohesion, all must choose the pathway to peace by shunning injustice, discrimination, bigotry and fanaticism, which cause discord, disaffection, and disunity. He described Good Friday as representing all the challenges and problems in life, at work, in the family and country at large.

The Service also advised them to steer clear of illicit drugs, excessive alcoholism and all forms of bigotry and other social vices during the period. “On this note, citizens are encouraged to adopt self-control, discipline and compassion in their dealings and conducts. The Service enjoins them to eschew bitterness, disloyalty, fake news, hate speech and violence.”In its own goodwill message, Globacom sued for peace and encouraged the Christian faithful to embrace good neighbourliness which are central to the life and teachings of Christ Jesus.
