Bola Tinubu, president-elect, says he is refreshed and ready for the task ahead of him.
Tinubu returned to the country on Monday afternoon after spending one month abroad.
The former Lagos governor was welcomed by a crowd of supporters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the country’s capital.Advertisement On March 22, Tunde Rahman, a media aide to Tinubu, said his principal departed Lagos for Paris to rest and prepare for lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia and Ramadan fasting.Speaking shortly after he returned to the country, Tinubu asked Nigerians to ignore reports from rumour mills, adding that he is “very strong”.“I’m happy to be back. I have rested, I’m refreshed and I’m ready for the task ahead,” the former Lagos governor was quoted in a statement by Rahman.
On May 29, Tinubu will be sworn in as Nigeria’s president to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari who would be completing his two-term of eight years.
