Ebonyi State Government has announced its preparedness to welcome the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the state on Friday. DAILY POST gathered that during the visit, the wife of the president, Oluremi, will, upon her arrival, commission the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport runway at Onueke, Ezza South LGA.
Recall that the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru, on assumption of office one year ago, embarked on the rehabilitation of the Chuba Okadigbo Airport runway to meet international standards. Investigation revealed that the governor spent over N17.8 billion on the rehabilitation of the longest airport runway in the South-East region. The Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Dr. Mrs.
Obichukwu said that the asphalted airport runway is the longest in the South-East region and, therefore, called on travelers to come to Ebonyi to take their flights, especially during the upcoming Yuletide season. The commissioner said: 'I had an audience with the DSS on routine surveillance of the International Airport, Onueke, in preparation for the commissioning of the asphalted runway by the wife of the president, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
