President Bola Tinubu Tinubu has just sworn in three newly appointed ministers inside the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
Those sworn in include Jamila Ibrahim-Bio Jummai; Balarabe Abbas Lawal; and Ayodele Olawande, all of whom were recently screened and approved by the Senate.
On September 17, 2023, President Tinubu nominated Ibrahim and Olawande as Minister of Youth and Minister of State for Youth, respectively.Lawal, who served as secretary to the government under former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, replaces his principal in Tinubu’s cabinet as Minister of Environment. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation , Senator George Akume; the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan; and National Security Adviser , Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, are all attending the meeting.
The Council also observed a minute of silence in mourning of one-time Minister of the Federal Capital Territory , Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun, who died recently.
