The brief ceremony, witnessed by top government dignitaries, including some serving and former governors, saw Senator Akume taking his oath of allegiance and oath of office at about 11:06 am inside the Council Chambers of the State House. Among those who witnessed the event were Vice-President Kashim Shettima; Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan; Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr FolasadeYemi-Esan and the wife of the new SGF, Regina Akume.
