The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Pate has announced that free caesarean sections will be available for Nigerian women in need.
Through MAMII, resources will focus on high-burden areas across 172 local government areas contributing to over 50% of maternal deaths in Nigeria. Prof. Pate added: “In these areas, community health workers act as vital links, bringing lifesaving information and support to doorsteps.”
