The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate during the just concluded February 25 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the
recent Supreme Court judgement dismissing the disqualification suit against President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima.
The former Vice President maintained that the 2023 election was fraudulent and did not comply with the constitutional requirements and the electoral guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission. DAILY POST reported earlier that the Apex Court dismissed the suit filed by the PDP, seeking Tinubu’s and Shettima’s disqualification from the 2023 presidential election. However, the Supreme Court ruled that the PDP’s suit was grossly lacking in merit.
He wrote, “The Supreme Court’s dismissal of the case of the PDP is not a setback to my quest for justice. Our legal team are primed to robustly prove that the election of February 25 was fraudulent, did not comply with the constitutional requirements and the electoral guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission and that the announced winner was not even qualified to contest the poll.
