Tinubu has approved the immediate lifting of financial and economic sanctions against the Republic of Niger and Guinea.
President Bola Ahmed Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale made this known in a press statement on Wednesday. "Closure of land and air borders between Nigeria and Niger Republic, as well as ECOWAS no-fly zone on all commercial flights…President Bola Ahmed “Closure of land and air borders between Nigeria and Niger Republic, as well as ECOWAS no-fly zone on all commercial flights to and from Niger Republic, has been ordered to be lifted,” said Ngelale.
Ngelale said Tinubu has also ordered that the suspension of Niger from all financial assistance and transactions with all financial institutions, particularly EBID and BOAD should be lifted. The coup d’état in Niger occurred on 26 July 2023 when the country’s presidential guard detained President Mohamed Bazoum.
