Obasanjo had described Nigeria under Tinubu as a failing state while highlighting the pervasive corruption and leadership failure under Tinubu 's administration. Condemning Obasanjo 's remark, Onanuga said the former president was not an ideal Nigerian leader.
Reacting, George said Onanuga would be made to pay for insulting an elder because it's not allowed in Yoruba land. Featuring on Nigeria Info FM, George said: 'An old man who could be Bayo Onanuga's father said something and you took him on by blasting him right; left and centre. 'That is his style because he did it to me before, he didn't meet me in Ijebu Ode Grammar school.
