All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Saturday debunked reports that he had a meeting with the G-5 Peoples Democratic Party governors in London recently.
A statement by Tunde Rahman of the Tinubu Media Office said while Tinubu was free to meet anyone he pleased, the said report was false. It however noted that the candidate had travelled to Saudi Arabia for the lesser hajj. It stated, “As usual, when the year is coming to an end, he takes time off his busy schedule to take a little rest and proceed to Saudi Arabia to observe Umrah . His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was in London during the week en route to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
“While in the United Kingdom, Asiwaju Tinubu noted some articles in some national newspapers in Nigeria, alleging that a secret meeting was held in London between him and the G-5 governors who are members of Peoples Democratic Party. These reports, to say the least, are not only in bad faith but also evil-intentioned. They were published to advance the political interests of the writers and their sponsors.
