The National Democratic Coalition Renewal Group has said President Bola Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29, two weeks to the 30th anniversary of June 12, 1993 election, has set Nigeria firmly on the path of meaningful recovery, rehabilitation and progress.

NADECO-RG National Leader, Prof. Atilade Adeeyo, who said things had been moving in the direction of restoration of hope since the new President assumed office, said Tinubu and the winner of the June 12, 1993 election, the late Chief Moshood Abiola, had several traits and as well the vision of restoring the country’s prosperity and rehabilitation in common.

Adeeyo, in a statement titled, ‘June 12: NADECO-RG says Nigeria now set on path of recovery, rehabilitation’ made available in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, said that Abiola, who was denied the mandate to lead Nigeria by the then military leader, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, until the former President Muhammadu Buhari, recognised him post-humously, was poised to put Nigeria on a path of steady development.

NADECO-RG, which described June 12 as a significant day in Nigeria, said, “Today, on the occasion of 2023 Democracy Day, we felicitate Nigerians because a reincarnate of Abiola is in power in the person of President Tinubu, who has brought renewed hope to Nigerians and who has since been bringing that renewed hope into fruition.
