President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday, at the Aso Rock Villa, praised Sports Minister Senator John Owan Enoh for the success of Team Nigeria at the last African Games in Accra, Ghana as well as the performance of the nation’s athletes to the Paris 2024 Olympics Games.
The meeting highlighted the significant achievements and ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering the growth and development of sports in Nigeria.
Enoh credited the president’s bold leadership and visionary policies for the transformational changes witnessed in Nigerian sports, just as he noted that under President Tinubu’s guidance, the sports industry has undergone a significant facelift, ushering in a new era of growth and opportunity, with the Ministry of Sports now standing alone from youth development.
President Tinubu commended the Minister for his dedication and proactive initiatives in advancing the sports industry. He acknowledged the pivotal role played by the minister in driving positive change and promoting excellence within the sector. Ange Postecoglou has insisted he is still aiming for a top-four finish that will secure Champions League football but accepts Tottenham have work to do before they can compete effectively with Europe's elite.
