President Bola Tinubu has approved a befitting burial for the 17 soldiers who were recently killed while on a peacekeeping mission in Delta State.The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, March 20.

The president, while expressing his heartfelt condolences to the families of the bereaved, pledged that the sacrifices of the fallen heroes would never be in vain. ”We salute all our men and women in uniform, and we sympathise with them. I will soon make further pronouncements, but they must have a befitting burial and national honours,” the President said.

Major General Cecil Esekhaigbe revealed how 16 military personnel were murdered in the Okuama community of Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.In his remarks, the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, emphasised the importance of forgiveness, generosity, and prayers during Ramadan and called for unity in the nation and support for President Tinubu.
