Tin-Can port commences truck call up vanguardngr.com vanguardnews
The introduction of the call-up system is meant to regulate movements of trucks to and from the ports in the port vicinity.
Recall that the Association of Maritime Truck Owners, AMATO, and Container Truck Owners Association of Nigeria, COTOAN, have explained that the new system would restore sanity within Apapa and its environs as it concerned the movement and parking of trucks. They pointed out that the meeting was attended by the AMATO/COTOAN coalition as well as the Multi-Agency Taskforce, headed by Rear Adm. E.O. Eyo.
“The truckers must design disks for the identification of their garages; confirm booking number of the export container they carry before coming to the ports.The chairmen of the truckers’ bodies also said that it had become an offense to offer money for the passing of trucks.
