GLENDALE, Ariz. — Aaron Rodgers will be greeted with sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70s on Sunday, ideal conditions for him to sling the football around at State Farm Stadium to Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams when the Jets attempt their desperate run to end their ghastly 13-year playoff drought.
Wilson won’t be making one-handed touchdown catches all the time, but he has earned Rodgers’ trust to throw him open, especially now that the presence of Adams has liberated him from suffocating double coverage. “The show they just put on last week on a short week, very impressive,” safety Jalen Mills told The Post. “Their bond, their connection with A-Rod and knowing where he’s going to throw the ball in certain coverages and who he’s going to go to is just going to continue to grow.
“His release package off the line of scrimmage. … I think that’s very elite,” Reed said. “He’s really quick. I think it startles a lot of quarterbacks. Because he’s a bigger receiver. And then also, his jump ball ability. If you watch his dunking videos, he has crazy bounce. So overall he’s a dynamic receiver.” “Garrett just moves different, his body movement is unorthodox. Same thing, really … quick and agile, but he just does things that most guys can’t do,” Reed said.
“I would take the separation skills from ’Tae,” Wilson said. “Really just carbon copy ’Tae and send his ass out there, for real. He’s got the size, he’s got the measurables. Maybe my speed, that’s the one thing I’d take from me. I’m trying to learn every day to get to that point that ’Tae’s at, man.” Adams’ 2024 season with Rodgers: 14-175-1.
