A four-storey building on Wednesday collapsed in Onitsha, Anambra State after a downpour in the area.An eyewitness told our correspondent that no life was lost in the incident.
While corroborating our source that no life was lost in the disaster, Mohammed said the Commissioner of Police in the state, John Abanh, had visited the scene.
He said the building was located on No 22 Nkisi Aroli street, Onitsha and belonged to one Chukwuma Njeka.“No casualty recorded and value of property damaged is yet to be ascertained. “Scene was cordoned off by the Police to prevent looters from taking advantage and to clear the rubrics. The PPRO added, the CP equally visited the Onitsha custodial centre where the rear fence of the prison also collapsed today following a downpour.“However, no casualty recorded and no inmates escaped due to the collapsed fence.
