Three persons were feared killed in Eneka community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State when a group of gunmen shot endlessly near a football viewing centre.

Several persons, mostly youths, sustained various degrees of gunshot injuries as the gunmen opened fire on residents of the area.

A source explained that the incident was one of the cult-related attacks that had been affecting some parts of the state. “Though we learnt that three persons had died as a result of gunshot injuries, we have not been able to verify that yet. But it was terrifying because people were running up and down trying to see where to hide.

“Many with gunshot injuries were rushed to the hospital immediately after the gunmen left,” the source, who preferred anonymity, said.
