Three persons were killed, while two others sustained injuries when suspected hoodlums attacked a Fulani settlement in Gaa Fulani near Bankole, Oke-Ode in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Zagazola Makama, a counter insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, made this known in a post on his X account on Thursday. According to Makama, the attack occurred around Tuesday and is believed to be a reprisal following the killing of one Shabba Ndabata, a Nupe man, at Ndabata mining site earlier in the day. The security expert quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the assailants stormed the camp, shooting sporadically and setting parts of the settlement ablaze.

'In the ensuing violence, one Gambo Abubakar was reportedly burnt alive, while another victim, identified as Yabo, was shot dead. Two others, Abubakar Mohammad and Abubakar Tambaya, sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to Oke-Ode Maternity Hospital for treatment. 'In response to the incident, a stakeholders’ peace meeting was held in the community involving Fulani and Nupe leaders to forestall further violence,' Makama said.
