Three immediate family members of a former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, who were kidnapped on Tuesday in his Wakkama Village, Akwanga Local Council of Nasarawa State, have regained their freedom after payment of an undisclosed amount of ransom. Some heavily armed men had invaded the family compound about 9pm on Tuesday and taken away two men and a woman to an unknown destination. The victims were identified as Anzaku Maku, Gambo Maku and Namo Maku, all children of Maku’s elder brother. It was learnt that the kidnappers demanded for N30million as ransom.

He explained that the three released victims are in good condition though would need to be seen by a doctor owing to the untold hardship they were compelled to go through at the hands of their abductors.
