Three men, Hamzat Isiak, Rasheed Adeshina and Yakubu Taoheed, on Wednesday appeared before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Osogbo, for stealing plastic bottles from a factory.

Addressing the court, the prosecutor, Kayode Adeoye, explained that the defendants stole the items worth N72,000, at the Iyanu Plastic Factory, opposite Heritage Hotel Estate area, Osogbo, on July 20, 2020.

The offences committed were said to be contrary to and punishable under sections 516 and 390 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002. One of the defendants, Hamzat Isiak, pleaded guilty to the two counts of conspiracy and stealing, but Adeshina and Taoheed, also arraigned on the same charge, pleaded not guilty.Also, counsel for the third defendant, Mufutau Adediran, made an oral application for his client.

The presiding magistrate, F.I. Omisade, remanded the first and second defendants in the Ilesha Correctional Centre and granted the bail application of the third defendant in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum.All rights reserved.
