A Nottingham cafe is sharing how people can have increased levels of productivity. The Kitty Cafe in Nottingham city centre claims that people who spend time with cats could have increased levels of productivity, and are calling for professionals to visit during the working week.
The cat lovers running the venue believe that one of the best ways to destress is relaxing with a cat, and they describe the business as an oasis in the city. The cafe also claim that spending time with cats could lead to increased levels of afternoon productivity for workers.Kitty Cafe founder Kate Charles-Richards first opened the cafe in Nottingham with her husband in 2015 after discovering cat cafes in Tokyo. They now have cafes in Birmingham and Leeds as well.
“By visiting Kitty Cafe they can enjoy lunch, sweet treats and get to know some of our resident cats. Petting a cat has been shown to reduce the stress hormone cortisol so visiting the cafe during the working day really is the perfect way for professionals to unwind and destress. "But it’s clear from the reaction of some people who come into the cafe that not everyone is totally comfortable around cats. Some people may have had an unfortunate experience with a cat in the past.
