Opinion: The Travails of Nigerian Women, By Ebere Onwudiwe
Many Nigerians are asking whether this ugly history of maltreatment and discrimination is about to repeat itself in another appointment within the judicial branch, involving yet another meritorious Nigerian woman at the federal level. These horrible sins against Nigerian women and girls have outraged many Nigerians, including the president, who was moved to offer his deepest condolences to the family and friends of one of the most recent victims of gender-based violence, Uwaila Omozuwa, expressing the hope that all the culprits would be brought to justice. Nigerians are still waiting.
