Ecobank Nigeria Plc has entered into partnership with National Union Textile Garment Tailoring Workers of Nigeria {NUTGTWN} for reawakening the Adire sector

This is just as the national president, NUTGTWN, Comrade John Adaji appealed to other banks and other sectors to assist the textile sector to regain its lost glory in terms of job creation.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP on phone, Adaji expressed the displeasure of the union over how many sectors, manufacturing outfits have sidelined patronage of the Nigerian textile industry. “I am very proud of what Ecobank is doing by involving our Adire producing sector. By this, the Adire sector will be able to rise. How I wish other banks, financial sector and other sectors of the nation’s economy should emulate Ecobank in promotion of Nigerian textiles. Ecobank looking inward is a big step that can make the textile industry wake up again,” he said.

Recall that Ecobank Nigeria, in bid to encourage more patronage of made in Nigeria local fabric, entered into partnership with the Adire sector of the NUTGTWN. Head, Consumer Banking, Korede Demola – Adeniyi, said the second edition of the exhibition is part of the bank’s contribution to boost the nation’s tourism, culture and the creative industry using Adire as a key driver, adding that, high profile exhibitors, vendors, dignitaries from different parts of the world have indicated interest to be part of the event.
