There was tension at the Ilejemeje local government secretariat in Ẹda-Oniyọ, Ekiti State, following an attack by heavily armed gunmen on Tuesday, April 16.

It was gathered that the attackers disrupted activities and forced employees to flee the premises for safety. It was gathered that workers took to their heels in search of safety. Some workers sustained various degrees of injuries during the attack.Though the cause of the attack is still sketchy, it was reliably gathered that the two communities have been embroiled in crisis for some time over land disputes.

Sources disclosed that the hoodlums who were heavily armed with dangerous weapons like gun, charms and cutlasses invaded the Secretariat at about 10:am.
