Tasmania's Premier doubles down on plans to keep the state's borders closed until at least December, saying he has agreed to an aspiration to open by Christmas but will be guided by public health considerations.
Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein has reiterated his intention to re-open the state's borders by Christmas, in line with an agreement reached by most states at National Cabinet today.
"If circumstances change for the worst, then we will obviously act on public health advice, that's just common sense," he said.
