The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Ukachi Peter Opara, has called for enhanced peace and harmony between herders and farmers across the state. Speaking on Thursday while hosting the leadership of the state chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, in his office in Jalingo, the state capital, he emphasized the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding for sustainable development.

The commissioner noted that peaceful coexistence between the two groups is essential not only for their livelihoods but also as a key driver of economic growth and stability in the state and the nation. He commended MACBAN for its willingness to collaborate with the police in promoting peace and security in Taraba. Opara reaffirmed his commitment to protecting lives and property, assuring that the command would go to great lengths to fulfill its constitutional duties. He stressed the importance of joint efforts in resolving conflicts and building a secure environment for all residents of the state. 'We will leave no stone unturned in maintaining peace and stability in Taraba State,' he stated, adding that the police would continue to work closely with all stakeholders to foster understanding and cooperation. On his part, the Chairman of the association, Alhaji Ya’u Ibrahim Barewa, assured the police commissioner of the association's full support in ensuring peaceful coexistence. He noted the longstanding partnership between MACBAN and the police and pledged to sustain the collaborative efforts
