The Chief of Mutum-Biyu, in the Gassol Local government Area of Taraba State, Justice Sani Muhammed (retd.) on Saturday confirmed that the decomposed bodies of his two wives and five children have been found.
The Taraba State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Usman Abdullahi, also confirmed the killing.
Meanwhile, the Taraba State Government has condemned the murder of the two wives and five children of the traditional ruler. In a statement released in Jalingo on Saturday and signed by the Commissioner for Information and Re-Orientation, Mrs Lois Emmanuel, the government described the act as barbaric, ungodly, inhuman and uncivilised, regretting that its sustained efforts to rid the state of kidnappings and other forms of banditry was being thwarted by the recent developments in the state.
The statement added, “The government condoled with the monarch, and the people of Mutum-Biyu Chiefdom on the unfortunate incident and prayed God to repose the souls of the deceased and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”All rights reserved.
