The Taraba State government has lifted the curfew imposed on residents of Jalingo.
The government imposed the curfew on the state capital to forestall the escalation of the post-election violence that broke out almost immediately after the results of the governorship election was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission . This was contained in a statement by Alhaji Hassan Mijinyawa, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Darius Ishaku.
