Taoiseach Micheál Martin will address global leaders later today when he outlines Ireland's position on climate action at the COP27 climate summit in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt

He is expected to make it clear that Ireland remains committed to scaling up its contribution to international climate finance in support of vulnerable communities who are impacted most by climate change.

On his arrival at the summit yesterday, the Taoiseach said it is very important that world leaders are brought together annually to keep a focus on climate change, to accelerate delivery of the various pledges and targets that have been set, and to concentrate minds and create a greater awareness globally about the danger we and future generations are in from climate change.
