Along the way, the Senators injury list grew yet again. Nikita Zaitsev played only 7:16 before leaving the game. He was spotted leaving the building in a walking boot, likely meaning he will be lost to the team for a considerable amount of time. The Senators are already without defencemen Artem Zub and Erik Brannstrom .
“He has been really good for a long time for us,” Senators coach D.J. Smith said of Talbot’s play. “In the first and second periods especially, we checked really well. And then they had a huge push in the third and we withstood it. Goaltending is a part of it and there have been nights when we’ve had all kinds of chances and not won and this is definitely a goalie win.”Article content
After a second period that featured some sweet passing by the Senators, along with some crazy bounces and a disallowed Bruins goal, the Senators took a lead into the third.Article content
