Human rights and pro-democracy group, the Take-It-Back Movement (TIB) has called for immediate prosecution of a Nigerian police officer, identified as Kabiru Odejimi for allegedly killing a 24-year-old Lagos resident, Bakare Idris Damola. In a statement released on Tuesday by the group’s Publicity Secretary, Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeek (Scotty Aluta), Damola was killed on Sunday by the police officer on his way from an outing.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the group’s Publicity Secretary, Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeek , Damola was killed on Sunday by the police officer on his way from an outing. The statement read, “The Take-It-Back Movement bemoans the death of one Bakare Idris Damola, a 24 years old generator engineer who was extra-judicially murdered on his way from a party on Sunday evening, May 28 by a well-known notorious police officer, named Alhaji Kabiru Odejimi, attached to the Alausa Division.

“It is important to state that extrajudicial killings by uniform personnel, especially the police have become a primary cause of death in the country. In fact, they have killed over 13,000 people since 2011.
