The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, has assured Nigerians that the synergy between the army and other sister agencies will ensure adequate security to attain peace in the country. This is according to the statement released by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, on Tuesday.

He said COAS Lagbaja stated this when the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, paid a maiden familiarisation visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja. According to the statement, Lagbaja noted that the Nigerian Army has thus far received visible interventions from the Federal Government, which he said have been impactful on military operations.

The minister, while congratulating the Chief of Army Staff for the successes so far attained, averred that President Bola Tinubu will continue to support the Nigerian Army to achieve its constitutional responsibilities. He then urged the troops not to relent in restoring the desired peace to the country. In his remarks, Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle called on Nigerians to appreciate the efforts and sacrifices of the military and security agencies.
