Suspected hoodlums have allegedly disrupted the presidential campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ranchers Bees Stadium, Kaduna state.
In a series of tweets on Monday, Atiku Abubakar, PDP presidential candidate, said the “sponsored thugs” attacked supporters of the party.Abubakar asked President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the supporters of all political parties to desist from attacking rallies.“I have just received emergency reports of attacks on Peoples Democratic Party supporters by thugs sponsored to scuttle the ongoing PDP campaign rally in Kaduna State.
“I urge President Muhammadu Buhari to call on all parties to call their supporters and members to order and to ensure that campaigns, just as with the elections themselves, are kept free, fair and safe.”supporters by thugs sponsored to scuttle the ongoing PDP campaign rally in Kaduna State. This is undemocratic and against the Peace Accord all parties signed up for just a few weeks ago.
“BREAKING: Suspected thugs deployed to disrupt PDP presidential campaign rally at the Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna,” he wrote.“The breach has been contained by security agents and the rally proceedings are going on. The first sign that the authorities here were up to some mischief was when they denied the PDP use of the ultra-modern Ahmadu Bello Stadium. This is a breach of the Peace Accord and INEC guidelines.
