Sixteen men arrested with materials belonging to the Independent National Electoral Commission during the September, 2018 governorship election, were on Wednesday discharged by an Osogbo Chief Magistr
ates’ Court.
The defendants – Moshood Adejare, Raimi Taofeeq, Oyelayo Dayo, Olaoye Asimi, Gbenga Olapade, Charles Amibiogoiu, Ayomide Ayansola, Daramola Segun, Kayode Dada, Tunji Akinroyinmi, Kunle Adedeji, Habeeb Bahiru, Yisa Sodiq, Adeolu Bamijoko, Oladipo Samson and Adeolu Bamidele, were arrested by security operatives in Orolu Local Government Area of Osun State.In his judgement, the magistrate, Olusegun Ayilara, said the prosecution could not prove allegations of conspiracy against the defendants.
