A suspected ritualist, identified as Ifasoji Ayangbesan, has tried to bribe policemen who arrested him with N1 million over the killing of one Ms
The said victim was reportedly killed on January 28, 2023, by Ayangbesan and other members of a notorious ritualist syndicate.
While other suspects were arrested since January, 35-year-old Ayangbesan had been at large, but he was arrested “following painstaking and intelligence-based investigation embarked upon by detectives from Obalende divisional headquarters.” Since then, the DPO of Obalende division, SP Murphy Salami, and his detectives had been on the trail of the fleeing suspect, with a view to arresting and prosecuting him with his colleagues in crime.“Immediately he was arrested, the suspect made an offer of one million naira bribe to the policemen, which was rejected,” Oyeyemi stated.
