PETALING JAYA: Life’s certainly not a beach for Kedah in their island getaway.
The Red Eagles headed to Langkawi after a tumultuous season which concluded with them finishing as runners-up in the Super League on the last day of the competition.Coach Aidil Sharin stressed that the three-day trip which started on Saturday was not a holiday as they had lined up several programmes in preparation for their Malaysia Cup assault.
“The main objective of this trip is to get the players to work better as a unit. This is not purely a holiday for them,” said the Singaporean. “We also want them to be on their toes as there are no matches for the next three weeks. This short break on the island will do them a world of good as they had worked really hard in the last seven matches. Hopefully, when they return they will be refreshed and ready for action.”
The Malaysia Cup is the remaining silverware in the M-League after the FA Cup was scrapped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
