The Federal Government has reacted to the controversy following its claims of expending 1.2 million dollars to evacuate Nigerians stranded in Sudan.‘fake’ evacuation plan.
But the government on Sunday explained that the sum allegedly spent in hiring buses for the evacuation of Nigerian students in Sudan was due to the dire need of the war situation. Iliya explained that the 1.2 million dollars in question was negotiated in a condition of war and where there are competing demands for the same bus services by other countries also trying to evacuate their citizens.
It urged Nigerians to disregard the unverified information being circulated on social media as some of them are either due to ignorance or sheer mischief.
