The World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned that the occupation of Sudan's central public laboratory holding samples of diseases including polio and measles, by fighters creates an “extremely, extremely dangerous” situation. The WHO’s representative in Sudan, Nima Saeed Abid, on Tuesday told reporters in Geneva via video-link that “There is a huge biological risk associated with the occupation of the central public health lab... by one of the fighting parties.”

The WHO’s representative in Sudan, Nima Saeed Abid, on Tuesday told reporters in Geneva via video-link that “There is a huge biological risk associated with the occupation of the central public health lab... by one of the fighting parties.” Sudan war started over who will control the direction of Sudan's political transition, which began four years ago with the overthrow of the brutal Islamist regime led by the former dictator, Omar al-Bashir.
