Style Star: Folake Kuye Huntoon
school at age 15. She eschewed the traditional fashion school route and instead forged her own path, moving back to the United States for college and following her passion for design and fashion.
Her persistence and passion for design never waned, and Folake’s first foray into fashion was selling self-designed shirts while in college. She continued with WeWe Clothing in 2007, a mommy-and-me, daddy-and-me clothing line which was carried on Zullily.com and in local boutiques.
FKSP, a black woman-owned business, is located in Los Angeles’s famed Fashion District, and Folake still designs all of her company’s styles, and FKSP runs its own factory and fulfillment facilities in DTLA, as well. While Folake’s style continues to evolve and change, it is always driven by the desire to make stylish, accessible, and budget-friendly pieces for the everyday woman.
